UNDERSTANDING THE ART OF APOLOGIZING
It seems that from the time we are born, we are indoctrinated with the words: “I’m sorry.” These two little words have created many more problems than answers to problems. There is an effective way to apologize that leaves the person in fault with dignity, while at the same time assuaging the hurt of the injured.
First, it is important to understand that when a wrong has been done to anyone, there is an inherent need for restitution to be made. If it is not, feelings of hostility, anger, and resentment begin to build. Trying to forget the incident with out confronting it often fosters negative feelings in both parties.
Second, often times it is not necessary to make a public spectacle of an apology. Talking one-on-one can identify the needs and a resolution can be drawn. Apologizing can be an entrée to str onger communications.
Third, once you have made the choice to apologize, a variety of emotional reactions come into play. This can be used in a positive sense to reinforce your self-image. Choosing to correct a wrong is the first step in a positive process . . . ridding yourself of the killing disease: “guilt.”
Fourth, there are proper words for an apology. It is necessary to de-program yourself from the words: “I’m sorry.” This does in no way say what you want to say. “I am sorry” is a personal indictment on your self-worth, your valuable and important being. You are not “sorry” . . . you are a special person who makes a vital contribution to life just by “being.”
What you are indeed wanting to say in an apology is: “Please forgive me” . . . “Please excuse me” . . . “Please pardon me” . . . etc. To make an apology effective, it is not necessary to wallow in self-degradation. It is only necessary to communicate your feelings of regret.
Also, there are some people who feel the need to apologize for everything, even for things over which they have no control. Listen to your communications and see if you are caught in a web of apologies. If so, you may be
· Striving to please too many people.
· Avoiding accepting responsibility (I’m sorry I’m late.)
· Trying to make up for circumstances for which you are not responsible (I’m sorry the picnic was rained out.)
· Covering up aggression or inadequacy.
· Manipulate someone into liking=2 0you or your work.
· Attempting to intimidate.
If you find yourself apologizing too often, you will know inside yourself, and others will feel from you . . . that it means nothing. It is just words that you say and don’t mean.
When you have committed a wrong . . . confront it. Ask yourself “why?” Once you understand your actions and words, then you can begin to rebuild your self-value by communicating with the injured party. Make a firm statement expressing your regret . . . ask for forgiveness .. . and then turn the page. Do not, under any circumstances, allow others or yourself to keep you in the “apology pig pen” after the wrong has been righted.
By the way, not only is it important to ask the injured to forgive you, it is equally important to ask you to forgive you. This finalizes the apology ritual. Once you have completed this, you are ready to face new opportunities and new challenges with the freedom to become the best you can be.

PLANNING FOR PROSPECTING
Prospecting is where sales begin! Do you have enough qualified prospects? Would you like more? Have you read material on prospecting? Have you taken a course on prospecting? Take 15 or 20 minutes and go through this exercise. Do you really want to produce more qualified prospects? If you do, then you need to commit the time right now to plan how to make that happen for you personally and professionally. Some questions to ask yourself (and please, write down your answers - 83% of us assimilate information better if we visualize it):$ How do I get my prospects?$ What questions do I ask them to qualify them?$ What would it mean to me, personally and professionally, if I had more qualified prospects? Now, summarize your answers: Wouldn't you agree that having more qualified prospects will lead to increased opportunities for appointments? The reason that is important is if you have more appointments with qualified prospects, you will increase the number of sales you make. What would it mean to you to make more sales? A promotion . . . more personal income . . . more time with your family . . . recognition . . .more options on how to spend your money? What would it mean for you? If your answer the next four questions honestly, you will unlock your creative juices and be open to the possibility of creating what's missing. The questions are:1. What do I choose?2. Why do I choose it?3. What am I willing to do to get it?4. What is missing to keep me from having it? If you answer those four questions honestly, you will create a structure for yourself for fulfillment. You will also create some breakdowns in the process of reaching your results. It is in working through the breakdowns and keeping our promises to ourselves and others that we create breakthroughs in performance. Most of us know what to do already. Sometimes we just don't do it. The power of prospecting or anything else is in knowing what you choose . . . why you choose it . . . what you are willing to do to get it . . . what's keeping you from getting it . . . and creating a method of action on a daily basis that moves you from step 1 to step 2 to step 3 and soon to your results. Are you an action-oriented person? Do you produce results? If so, then start developing your plan now to produce more qualified prospects.

How to Stay Motivated - Part 1
by Dr. Zonnya,
“The First Lady of Motivation”
As a "Motivation Trainer" for over 20 years, I have researched the subject of "Motivation." It is talked about a lot, but not very much is taught or written about it. It seems to be a word that eludes us. I often here people say: "Can you motivate me?" or "I need motivating." or "I've lost my motivation."
Part of the challenge in understanding the concept of "Motivation" is to understand what it means. We seem to have a distorted definition of what it is. Since we know that words have positive or negative energy connected to them, it is important that we know what words we are saying and what those words mean.
Let's start our journey into understanding "Motivation" with a workable definition.
Motivation is:
1. Making a Choice
2. To Take Action
3. For a Result
4. Whether You Feel Like It or Not.
"Motivation" is about what you choose, not how you feel. The first myth about "Motivation" is that it somehow has something to do with how you feel. So if you feel like exercising, you are motivated, and if you don't feel like exercising, you aren't. If you feel like working your network marketing business, then you are motivated; if not, you just aren't motivated. If you feel, like going to church, you are motivated; if you don't feel like it.... And as you can imagine, there are hundreds of scenarios that we could mention.
Once we accept a "new definition" of "Motivation," we can move forward to using it as a tool in our lives to help us achieve results.
Starting with
1. Making a Choice.
Everything is a choice. Choice equals results. Good choices = Good results. Bad choices = Bad results. From the time you are born, until the time you die, you will literally make hundreds and hundreds of choices. Every choice has a result. The caveat is that you may make a choice today, but not get the result today. Results are still coming even if delayed. To stay motivated, we start with what choices will we make for specific results in our lives in every area: Physical, mental, spiritual, social, financial, family.
2. To Take Action
Once we make a choice for a result, the mind automatically goes into the mode of: "What action do I need to make in order to achieve the result?" This is how we develop our action plan for choosing and accomplishing results in our lives. If you don't know what action to take to achieve your result, you mind will go into the mode: "Where do I go to learn what to do to accomplish this result?"
Your mind is a powerful friend or foe. With all the many years of studying the mind, we still know so little about it. It was created to help you. Unfortunately with some of our old negative programming, often our mind does not help us. It is so important that we are continually alert to negative programming that is keeping us from fulfilling more of our potential.
The reason we take action is for the result.
3. For a Result
What results are you choosing for your life today? The results you have in your life today are from the choices you have made in your yesterday. The results you will have today and in the future will be from the choices you make. Understand, you cannot make the right choices if you have not clearly defined the result.
What results do you choose for your health, you body, your eating habits, etc?
What results do you choose for your thinking, your attitude, your words that you speak, etc?
What results do you choose for your spiritual life? I did not say "religion"; I said for your "spiritual" life?
What results do you choose for being involved with your community, your friends, etc?
What results do you choose for you business, your profession, you finances, etc?
What results do you chose for your family, for your relationships, etc.?
It is important that you develop a "result-driven" mindset.
4. Whether You Feel Like It or Not.
When you make a choice to take action for a results, then how you feel does not enter into the equation. How many times do you do what you do, when you do not feel like it? If you have children, how many times do you get up in the middle of the night to take care of your child when you did not feel like it? Have you ever gone to a business training seminar, but you didn't feel like it? Have you ever persevered in the midst of feeling bad, to do a business presentation or make extra calls?
In all of these situations, "Motivation" was in operation. You were "Motivated."
We are "Motivated" when we make a choice to take action for a result whether we feel like it or not. Motivation is not about "feeling," it is simply about "choosing." We can have a Motivated day every day we choose to. Should we chose to have a "laid-back" day, that is great...that is a choice too.
We begin the journey of staying motivated when we first know what "Motivation" is.

Time to unclutter your purse, desk, kitchen countertop, or bathroom medicine cabinet. Take 15 or 20 minutes out of your day and GET IT DONE. What a wonderful way to start your week. One of the secrets to having control of your life is to unclutter and organizing your life. Uncluttering is half the battle ... the other half is ORGANIZING. If you do not organize you will have to unclutter over and over again. When you clean your chosen area think about how you may better oragnize the area. Use zip lock bags in your purse ... make organized areas in your desk drawers for the items you need frequently, get them off your desk .... find a home for all the items on your kitchen counter, a permanent home, only leave out the essentials .... throw out old medicines, use zip lock containers for like items and store them in a drawer or cabinet, you will be surprised at how many like items you have and will not need to shop for more for awhile. As you organize small areas of your life you will get a sense of control of your life. Before you know it you will continue on to organize other areas of your life. Remember: Today is your day to organize.

Creating and Sustaining Personal Success
Believing In Myself and Getting To Where I Want To Be
Dr. Zonnya
To begin creating and sustaining personal success, you must have a starting point. From that starting point, you discover Wisdom, Inspiration, Success, Health and Happiness on the journey.
One of my favorite quotes is from Souls on Fire by Elie Wiesel: But where was I to start? The world’s is so vast; I shall start with the country I know best, my own. But my country is so large, I had better start with my town, but my town, too is large. I had best start with my street. NO: My home. NO: My family. NO: Never mind, I shall start with myself.
To discover and develop a “balanced self-love,” a “balanced self-confidence,” a “balanced deserve level” is the first step toward creating More, Better, Greater positive results in your life.
It has been said through the years that the initial years of our lives are where most of our programming is learned and follows us throughout our lives. Much of our initial programming was negative; so that will affect the kinds of choices we make. Until “one magic day” a light bulb comes on: You have been listening to other people and their programming, you have been reading books by people who present a Positive approach to life, and you are beginning to observe others who have a different kind of life . . . then you begin to make major ‘mind-set shifts’ and results begin to change.
At first, reprogramming your mind-set may feel strange, even to the point of uncomfortable. Please know that is OK, even normal. Just continue to keep an open mind, ears, eyes, and heart and you will begin to discover the Greater you that is inside you.
The results in sharing these ideas with you is to give you simple, practical, adaptable, usable and workable systems on “balanced self- love,” “balance self-confidence,” and “balanced deserve-level.”
A SOS MOMENT
The mind is like a parachute, it has to be open to work.
I am often asked: On what do you base your belief in self-love? I firmly believe that self-love is based upon more than just philosophy or psychology. While positive self-love can be viewed through the eyes of the thought and mind, I am also convinced it encompasses a “spiritual” dimension.
I purposely use the word “spiritual” as opposed to religion or denominationalism. For me, the “spiritual,” is bigger than a religion. It is empowering to have a ”faith” in a higher source than myself. Faith in the Creator of the universe and faith in a positive Spirit that surrounds me with power gives me a sense of authority, a feeling of competency, and a presence of who I am.
A SOS MOMENT
Love they neighbor as thyself.
I believe this to be an internationally accepted way to think, live, and treat others. Just for exactness . . . the word “as” means “equal to.” “Love thy neighbor ‘equal to’ thyself.”
Balanced self-love will be determined by what and how I see myself, which then will dramatically affect on what and how I see others.
Five Reasons for Disliking Yourself
1. Childhood experiences
2. Religions
3. Breakdowns in Family Relationships
4. Fear and Disappointment
5. Money
Aspects of Negative Self
1. Self-centeredness
2. Self-defeating
3. Self-will
4. Self-effacing
5. Self-flagellation
6. Self-hatred
7. Self-pity
8. Self-conceit
9. Self-glorification
10. Self-righteousness
Five Reasons for Liking Yourself
1. Learning who you are
2. Celebrating your positives, instead of focusing on your negatives
3. Accepting you are special and there is only one you who can do what you do
4. Strong healthy relationships
5. Clearly defined faith
A SOS MOMENT
You can’t really love anyone else until
You first learn how to love you.
Aspects of Positive Self
1. Self Image
2. Self Esteem, Value and Worth
3. Self-Realization
4. Self-Confidence
5. Self-Respect
6. Self-Discipline
7. Self-Dignity
8. Self-Control
9. Self- Development
10. Self-Giving
This gives us a basis for building our “self” and as we do, we will experience, wisdom, inspiration, success, health and happiness.
A SOS MOMENT
One of my personal WOW moments was
when I realized who I am and that
my value does not depend on people or things.
My value depends on what I contribute to others.
