CUTTING STRESS

1. Learn to recognize your physical and emotional reactions to stress and adjust those that are harmful.
2. Sort your priorities. Do what is important and avoid overloading.
3. Be realistic about your career and what it can and should offer.
4. Set your sights high, but establish reasonable short-term results.
5. Develop your own individualized physical activity program.
6. Minimize your intake of junk food.
7. Stabilize your weight to a healthy level.
8. Set aside time to relax and unwind.
9. Plan, but don't worry about the future.
10. Pat yourself on the back every day.
11. Separate yourself from your work . . . you are not your job.
12. Learn to say "NO."
13. Keep in touch with your "balanced living" lifestyle.
14. Organize your life at home, at work, and at play.
15. Don't procrastinate - the more you put things off, the more anxious and stressed you become.
16. Plan carefully so you are not rushed when shopping, traveling, or working toward timeframes.
17. Cut down on caffeine.
18. Get enough rest. Everyone's needs are different. Judge how much sleep you need to feel alert and energetic.
